Compress an image to under 100 KB (or any size you pick)

Web forms, job portals and ticket systems often ask for an image under a size such as 100 KB or 200 KB. Guessing at a quality setting wastes time. Enter the size and let the tool find it.

How the target works

Type a target in KB. For JPG, WebP and AVIF the tool tries different quality values and keeps the highest one whose file fits under your number. If even the lowest quality is still too big, it can reduce the pixel dimensions in small steps until it fits. You can switch that off if the size in pixels must stay fixed.

What to expect

Check that the site accepts the format

Some forms accept only JPG. Choose JPG as the output format if you are not sure. WebP and AVIF are smaller but not accepted everywhere.

Private by design

Passport photos, signatures and ID scans are common here. The files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.
