Questions
How strong is it?
It uses AES-256 encryption. The password you set to open the file is the real protection, so pick a long one.
What do the block printing, copying and editing options do?
They are requests that PDF readers honour. Anyone who has the password can remove them, so do not rely on them alone.
What if I forget the password?
The file cannot be recovered. Keep the password somewhere safe.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is read and changed by code running in this page. Nothing is sent to a server, so contracts, IDs and bank statements stay on your device. The hosted page may load tool files when needed. Use the separate offline pack for reliable disconnected operation.
What are the limits?
The free page makes up to 100 pages per output file, and everything runs in your browser memory, so a file of several hundred MB may be slow or fail. The offline pack removes the page limit.
