Xero can import a bank statement from a CSV file when your bank feed is missing, late or limited. Xero lets you map columns during import. Check the fields and date format before completing it.
This converter writes these headings: *Date, *Amount, Payee, Description, Reference. The two starred columns are required. Amounts use one column, with money paid out as a negative number. Statement Converter writes this header row and fills Description from the statement. Payee and Reference are left blank for ordinary statement imports. Xero templates can vary by region; map Date and Amount to the correct fields.
The Xero export writes dates as DD/MM/YYYY. Select DD/MM/YYYY if Xero asks for the date format, and review the transactions before completing the import. The generic CSV export instead writes ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD).
Text-based PDFs only (no OCR). Layouts vary by bank, so compare the preview with the statement. The free version exports the first 100 rows per file.
