QBO is the Web Connect format QuickBooks uses for bank downloads. It is an OFX file with an extra identifier for the bank. Some people need one because the CSV import in their QuickBooks version is limited or fiddly.
Statement Converter reads your bank CSV, maps the date, description and amount columns (including separate debit and credit columns), and writes an OFX file with the QuickBooks bank identifier field added. You can set the account type, currency and account number text before you export.
QuickBooks may only accept a QBO file whose bank identifier matches a bank it knows about. A generic file can be refused by some QuickBooks versions, and what works differs by version and country. If QuickBooks rejects the QBO file and your version supports bank CSV uploads, try the QuickBooks CSV export from the same page. That route does not depend on a bank identifier. We cannot promise that every QuickBooks version will take a generated QBO.
Look at the running-balance check and the flagged repeats. Check one date you recognise, because day-first and month-first dates are easy to mix up, and look at the largest amount to catch comma-decimal problems.
Free version exports 100 rows per file. PDFs must contain text. Nothing is uploaded, and the file never leaves your computer.
