Bank on one side. Books on the other.
Drop a bank statement CSV or XLSX and an invoice, payment or ledger CSV or XLSX. The tool pairs rows by amount, date and reference, lists what is missing on each side and flags what needs a look. Your files stay in this page.
1. Bank statement (CSV or Excel)
2. Invoices, payments or ledger (CSV or Excel)
How it works
CSV or XLSX. XLSX reads the first worksheet only, using stored values and common date formats, not formula calculation or display formatting. Save the wanted sheet first. Columns for date, amount, description and reference are found for you. Change any of them from the drop-downs.
Exact matches, reference matches and probable matches are labelled. Anything unclear is marked for review instead of being forced.
Matched, unmatched bank, unmatched ledger and amount-differs sheets, with a summary that adds up.
No row cap. Works offline.
- The free page reads the first 150 rows of each file. The pack has no row cap (very large files depend on your browser memory).
- One folder, opens in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. No install, no account.
- Useful for month-end close, bookkeeping clients and tidying up before a review.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Both files are read and matched by code running in this page. There is no server that receives them.
How does it decide that two rows match?
Amounts must agree (within the tolerance you set) and the dates must be within the days you allow. A shared reference such as an invoice number counts for a lot and can match across a wider date gap. Each row is used once. When several rows could pair with the same row it ranks candidates by reference, date and description and marks ambiguous pairs for review.
What is a batch match?
A payout or deposit often covers several invoices. If one row equals the sum of two to six rows on the other side within the date window, they are grouped and marked for review. Larger groups are not searched. The search checks only the first 16 available nearby candidates with a bounded search, so it can miss valid groups.
What if an invoice was part-paid?
A payment with the same reference but a different amount is not matched. It is listed in "Reference, amount differs" with the difference, so you can decide.
Dates and currencies?
Day-first and month-first dates are detected and can be set per file. Same-currency matching only, no conversion. Currency columns can be mapped. Different nonblank codes block the run so totals never combine currencies. Where a code is missing, confirm the currency yourself. Use one currency per run.
Is this accounting advice?
No. It pairs rows you give it. A match is a suggestion for you to confirm.
