Make a word search from your own word list

This week's spelling list, the vocabulary from a topic unit, the names at a birthday party: a word search built from your own words beats a generic puzzle every time.

Your words, your grid

Paste or type up to 20 words, one per line. The generator picks a grid size that fits, or you can fix it from 10 × 10 up to 20 × 20. Longer lists and longer words need bigger grids, and the tool tells you if a word would not fit.

Set the difficulty

By default words run across and down. Tick diagonal for a harder puzzle, and backwards for the sharpest eyes.

Letters A-Z only

Accented and non-Latin letters are stripped, so this suits English spelling lists. Words stay private: the list is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
