Questions
Is my voice uploaded?
No. The recording is made, trimmed and encoded in this page on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
The microphone does not work.
Check that your browser is allowed to use the microphone for this site, that no other app is holding it, and that the right device is chosen above. On a page opened from a file, some browsers refuse microphone access. The online version works from https.
What do the options do?
Reduce noise, cancel echo and even out volume ask the browser to clean up the sound while it records. They help for speech. Turn them off for music or when you want the raw sound. How well they work depends on your browser and microphone.
How long can I record?
The free version stops at 5 minutes. The recording is kept in memory until you save it. Browser memory and sleep can stop a take earlier. Long real-world recordings have not been verified; save short takes often.
What if I close the tab?
The recording is lost. It is not saved anywhere until you press Save recording.
What does it not do?
It records the microphone only, not the sound playing on your computer. No noise removal after the fact, no effects, no video. If the page is closed or the computer sleeps during a take, the take is lost.
