Turn a Thinkific Transaction Report into monthly totals by type, fees and net.
Drop in the Transaction Report (CSV) you export from Thinkific Payments. See each month and currency by transaction type and status: subtotal, tax, total, fees and net amount. Failed payments are counted apart. The pack adds a clean transactions CSV and a month totals CSV. Nothing is uploaded.
Tested only on made-up files, never on a real Thinkific export. Column names come from Thinkific's help page for the TCommerce Transaction Report, so the tool stops with a message if a needed one is missing. Thinkific says Net amount is the amount minus the fee. It does not say how dates are written or how refund amounts are signed, so you choose the date style and nothing is checked: amounts are summed as written. Failed rows are left out. Customer names, emails and card details are never read. This is not tax advice.
Set these to match your files before you drop them. Nothing is guessed. Limits: 20 files, 40 MB each, 200 MB in total, 60,000 rows per file and 300,000 in total.
What it does
Checks the report columns, the currency codes, the dates and every amount. A bad row stops the file with its row number.
Subtotal, tax, total, fees and net amount for every month and currency, split by the Transaction type and Status Thinkific wrote on each row. Failed payments are counted apart.
The pack adds a transactions CSV and a month totals CSV you can open in any spreadsheet.
Pay once. Summarize every Thinkific month.
- All months in your files instead of the first 3 (counted per currency).
- A transactions CSV and a month totals CSV, ready for your spreadsheet.
- One folder that opens in your browser with no internet. Your Thinkific data stays on your computer.
Questions
Which file do I use?
In your Thinkific admin, open Sales, then Transactions, pick a date range and choose Export. Thinkific emails the CSV. The Transaction Report only covers payments processed through Thinkific Payments. Stripe and PayPal sales are in the Orders Report, which this tool does not read.
Why are there settings?
Thinkific does not say how dates and numbers are written in the export, so you tell the tool. Nothing is guessed.
Why is there no net amount check?
Thinkific says Net amount is the amount minus the fee, but it does not say which amount, or how refund rows are signed. So the tool adds each column as written and does not decide whether a row is income or a cost.
What about local-currency checkouts?
If the export has a Presentment currency, the tool tells you how many rows have one. It reads amounts from the Currency column as written and never converts. Thinkific calls Currency the buyer currency and does not say which currency the Subtotal, Total, Fees and Net amount columns are in. Check one row against your Thinkific payout before relying on the totals.
