Turn a CSV of mandates into a SEPA direct debit file with every mandate checked first.

This tool writes a pain.008.001.02 file in the German banks' SEPA direct debit schema and checks the format rules. The output is checked against the ISO 20022 pain.008.001.02 schema and the German banks' technical validation subset, but it has not been tried with any bank. It does not check that the IBANs are in the SEPA area or that the collection date is a bank business day. It does not know whether your bank accepts your creditor identifier, how much lead time your bank needs, or whether a mandate is valid. Check the file in your bank portal before the collection date. It gives no legal or accounting advice.

What it covers

• One file in pain.008.001.02, UTF-8, Core or B2B, euro only, one batch per sequence type and collection date, each with its own count and control sum, and a group header with the totals.
• Each collection has the debtor name and IBAN, an optional BIC (otherwise NOTPROVIDED), the amount, the mandate ID and signature date, an end-to-end ID (NOTPROVIDED if empty) and optional remittance text.
• Checks: IBAN check digits for the creditor and every debtor, creditor identifier check digits, amounts from 0.01 to 999,999,999.99 with at most two decimals, mandate IDs and references in the allowed character set and length, signature date not after the collection date, collection date not in the past, text length limits, and characters outside the chosen set are refused and never changed.
• Not covered: mandate amendments, ultimate parties, purpose codes, structured remittance, other currencies, other pain.008 versions.
