Convert MOV to MP4 offline, without uploading

MOV files from iPhones and cameras do not always open in every app or website. An MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound opens almost everywhere.

How to convert

1. Open the Video Compressor and choose the MOV file.
2. Leave the size on Keep original if you only want the new format, or pick a smaller size to save space too.
3. Press Compress and download the MP4.

Limits

• The picture has to be something your browser can decode. H.264 MOV files work. HEVC (H.265) files from newer iPhones only work if your browser and computer can decode HEVC. The tool tells you if it cannot.
• The picture is re-encoded, so some detail is lost. The sound is copied over unchanged when it is AAC.
• The free version handles up to 5 minutes (files up to 500 MB) per run. The planned offline pack removes those limits. It is not yet for sale.
