Turn Klarna settlement report CSVs into totals per payout, type and detailed type.
Drop in the settlement report CSVs from your Klarna Merchant Portal, Settlements API or SFTP. See each payout by type and detailed type: sales, returns, fees, commissions, credits and charges, added up exactly as written. The pack adds a rows CSV and a totals CSV. Nothing is uploaded.
Tested only on made-up files and on the one example CSV in Klarna's documentation, never on a real merchant report. Column names come from Klarna's settlement report documentation. Klarna says the report columns can be configured, so a file with other columns may be refused with a message. The documentation gives no rule tying the summary totals to the rows, so nothing is checked and amounts are summed as written. Merchant references, names and card terminal details are never read. This is not tax advice.
Set these to match your files before you drop them. Nothing is guessed. Limits: 20 files, 40 MB each, 200 MB in total, 60,000 rows per file and 300,000 in total.
What it does
Finds the documented columns by header name and checks the dates, currencies and every amount. A bad row stops the file with its row number.
Rows and amount for each payout, split by type and detailed type, with the summary line from the file shown as written.
The pack adds a rows CSV and a totals CSV you can open in any spreadsheet.
Pay once. Summarize every Klarna payout.
- All payouts in your files instead of the first 3.
- A rows CSV and a totals CSV, ready for your spreadsheet.
- One folder that opens in your browser with no internet. Your Klarna data stays on your computer.
Questions
Which file do I use?
The settlement report CSV that Klarna creates for each payout. Klarna says you can get it from the Merchant Portal, the Settlements API or SFTP. Drop one or many.
What if my file starts with a summary line?
Klarna's example CSV has a short summary section on top, then the transactions. The tool reads both. A file with only the transactions works too.
Which dates does it accept?
The capture date as YYYYMMDD, as in Klarna's example file, or as an ISO 8601 date like 2018-08-10T07:45:00Z, as the documentation describes. Other layouts stop with the row number.
Why no checks?
Klarna explains each type but publishes no rule for how the summary totals relate to the rows, and the signs are as written in your file. So the tool adds each column as written and never adds different currencies together.
What counts as a repeat?
The same payment reference, order ID, capture ID, refund ID, type, detailed type, date and amount. Rows with no order ID are not tested. Repeats are counted, not removed, and the downloads wait until you tick the box.
