Turn an eBay Transaction report into a monthly summary and a payout check.
Drop in your Seller Hub Transaction report CSV files. See each month split into money in and money out with fees and deductions broken out, every Type listed, and each Payout ID added up so you can compare it with what your bank received. The pack gives you a journal CSV per month. Nothing is uploaded.
Tested only on made-up files, never on a real eBay export. Column names come from eBay's help page for the Transaction report, and the report's columns can be customized, so the tool stops with a message if a needed one is missing. Fees and deductions are worked out as Net amount minus Gross transaction amount. It does not check your eBay account or your bank. Compare the totals with your eBay reports before you rely on them.
Set these to match your files before you drop them. Nothing is guessed. Limits: 20 files, 40 MB each, 200 MB in total, 60,000 rows per file and 300,000 in total.
What it does
Each month gets money in, money out, fees and deductions (Net amount minus Gross transaction amount) and the net movement.
Rows are grouped by Payout ID and their Net amount added up. Type what your bank received and see the difference.
eBay's Type names are shown exactly as written. We do not guess what they mean. In the pack you give each one an account yourself.
Pay once. Work through all your months.
- All months and payouts in your files instead of the first 3.
- A journal CSV per month that passes the checks, with an account for each Type that you choose, plus CSVs of every Type and every payout with your typed bank amounts.

Questions
Which report do I use?
In Seller Hub, open Payments, Reports and the Transaction report, pick a date range and download the CSV (eBay's help: ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/reconciling-ebay-sales-transactions). The tool needs the columns Transaction creation date, Type, Gross transaction amount and Net amount. Payout ID and Payout date are used for the payout table when they are in the file. Payout status is used to leave rows that are still processing or on hold out of that table. Add them in Customise column settings if they are missing.
Why are there settings?
eBay lets you change the report's columns, and number and date styles depend on your account. You tell the tool the currency, the number and date format, how empty amounts are shown, and how many lines come before the header, so nothing is guessed. Files with an Exchange rate other than 1 are stopped, because amounts could be in two currencies.
Does it prove my payout is right?
No. It adds up the rows that carry a Payout ID and shows the difference from the amount you type. Which rows eBay counts into a payout is not checked, so a difference is a reason to look at the rows, not a verdict.
Is the journal entry accounting advice?
No. It is a starting point built from the month's totals and the accounts you type. Your accountant decides how eBay items are booked. The tool makes no tax or accounting claims.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The files are read on your device.
