Discogs Sales Summary - preview, not yet checked on real exports

Turn a Discogs transactions export into monthly totals, fees and a journal.

Drop in your Marketplace Transactions export (CSV). Every paid row is checked against Discogs' own payout formula. See each month's order totals, platform fee, fee tax, PayPal fees and payout by currency. The pack gives you a journal CSV and an orders CSV. Nothing is uploaded.

Tested only on made-up files, never on a real Discogs export. Column names come from Discogs' help page for the transactions export, so the tool stops with a message if a needed one is missing. Dates are not documented, so you choose the style. Refunded rows are counted apart and kept out of the paid totals and the journal. This is not tax advice, and not Discogs' own Monthly Platform Fee Statement.

Set these to match your files before you drop them. Nothing is guessed. Limits: 20 files, 40 MB each, 200 MB in total, 60,000 rows per file and 300,000 in total.

What it does

Check

Each paid row must satisfy Discogs' formula: Seller Payout Amount = Total Order Amount less order tax (when Discogs collects it), fee tax, the Discogs fee and PayPal fees. A row that does not stops the file with its row number.

Summarize

Order totals, item and shipping amounts, tax, platform fee, fee tax, PayPal fees and payout for every month and currency.

Hand over

The pack writes a balanced journal CSV with accounts you name, and an orders CSV.

Questions

Which file do I use?

On Discogs, open the Export page, choose Marketplace Transactions under What to export, and download the CSV. Discogs says its Monthly Platform Fee Statement is the one for tax filing; this tool is a summary of the transactions export, not that statement.

Why are there settings?

Number and date styles are not documented, so you tell the tool. Nothing is guessed.

What about refunds?

Rows with Status Refunded are counted and shown apart. They are not added to the paid totals or the journal, and the journal waits until you confirm you have looked at them.

Is the journal entry accounting advice?

No. It is a starting point built from the month's totals and the accounts you type. Your accountant decides how Discogs sales are booked. The tool makes no tax or accounting claims.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is read on your device.
