Turn a bank CSV into a camt.053 statement file with the balances proved first.

This tool writes a camt.053.001.02 file from your own CSV and checks the format rules. It cannot know which bank transaction codes your accounting software expects, so it writes one proprietary code for every entry (editable below). The output is checked against the ISO 20022 camt.053.001.02 schema, but it has not been tried in any accounting or banking software. Check that your software accepts the file before you rely on it. It gives no tax or accounting advice.

What it covers

• One account statement in camt.053.001.02, UTF-8, with an opening balance (OPBD), a closing balance (CLBD) and one entry per CSV line, booked, sorted by booking date.
• Each entry carries the amount, credit or debit, booking date, optional value date, optional bank reference, your transaction code, and optional end-to-end reference, counterparty name and counterparty IBAN, and description as unstructured remittance text.
• Checks: IBAN check digits for the account and each counterparty, valid dates, amounts with at most two decimals and no zero lines, text length limits from the schema, characters XML cannot hold are refused and never changed, and the closing balance matches yours when you enter it.
• Not covered: other camt.053 versions, structured remittance, several accounts in one file, fees and interest blocks, bank-specific transaction code tables.
