Turn a Bandcamp sales report into monthly totals and payout checks.
Drop in your raw data sales report (CSV). See each month's item totals, transaction fees, revenue share and change to payout balance by currency, and every payout checked: the payout less its fee must equal Amount you received. Type what landed in your bank to see the difference. The pack gives you a payout journal CSV and a payouts CSV. Nothing is uploaded.
Tested only on made-up files, never on a real Bandcamp export. Column names come from Bandcamp's help page for the raw data sales report, so the tool stops with a message if a needed one is missing. Dates are UTC and their style is not documented, so you choose it. Sales rows are summarized only; the journal covers payouts, where Bandcamp documents the amounts.
Set these to match your files before you drop them. Nothing is guessed. Limits: 20 files, 40 MB each, 200 MB in total, 60,000 rows per file and 300,000 in total.
What it does
Item total, transaction fee, revenue share and change to payout balance for each month and currency, by item type.
Each payout row must satisfy Bandcamp's own description: the payout less the fee is the amount you received. Type your bank amount to see the difference.
The pack writes a balanced journal CSV for the payouts and a payouts CSV with your typed bank amounts.
Pay once. Close every Bandcamp payout.
- All months in your files instead of the first 3 (counted per currency), and every payout instead of the first 3.
- A payout journal CSV with the three accounts you choose, plus a payouts CSV with your typed bank amounts.
- One folder that opens in your browser with no internet. Your Bandcamp data stays on your computer.
Questions
Which file do I use?
On Bandcamp, open your Tools page and download the sales report (raw data). It is a CSV. Drop one or several files here.
Why are there settings?
Number and date styles are not documented, so you tell the tool. Nothing is guessed. Bandcamp times are UTC, so a month is a UTC month.
Does it prove my payout is right?
No. It checks that each payout row adds up the way Bandcamp describes it, and shows the difference from the bank amount you type. Exchange rates and bank fees can explain a difference.
Is the journal entry accounting advice?
No. It is a starting point built from each payout and the accounts you type. Your accountant decides how Bandcamp payouts are booked. The tool makes no tax or accounting claims.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The file is read on your device.
